Hello Troop,

Matthew is proud to be at a point in his project to allow the youth in the Troop to come assist in his project. Most of you know about Matthew’s project, but I will give you a quick summary. He is building an addition on Firehouse #2 for the Glen Haven Area Volunteer Fire Department. He started in the summer of 2019 by raising money. For many reasons, 2020 was a challenge for this small mountain community. The county was short staffed and delays in his permit getting stamped prior to work was extremely challenging. This area was in the Cameron Peak Fire in October of this same year. We flip the page to 2021 and life and weather has thrown Matthew a lot of curve balls. He has stepped up to the plate and keeps fouling them off. But now the pitches are easier to read and that perfect pitch is coming.

A Scout is....accountable!

No, we didn't just add another significant word to the Scout Law. Accountability is a word that summarizes the words of the Scout Law. We are accountable for our actions.

Boy Scouts Supernova Awards
If you thrive on challenge, then earning the Supernova award will be right up your alley. To be eligible, you must be a First Class Scout or higher. As a prerequisite, you must first earn any three of the four Nova awards for Boy Scouts. With your parent’s and unit leader’s help, you must select a council-approved mentor who is a registered Scouter. You may NOT choose your parent or your unit leader (unless the mentor is working with more than one youth).
